Senior Manager/Communications Manager, Communications and Outreach
Women Thrive Worldwide is searching for a Communications Manager/Senior Manager in our Department of Communications and Outreach to develop and implement communications and online outreach strategies. Women Thrive Worldwide is the leading non-profit advocating for U.S. assistance and trade policies that economically empower women in developing countries.
Reporting to the VP of Communications and Outreach, the position will require a mix of technical experience (HTML, web development, and online marketing), strong writing and content development skills, as well as experience implementing online activism and social media campaigns and building organizational partnerships.
Responsibilities Include:
• Developing and implementing online communications and outreach strategy to advance policy goals, visibility, activist engagement, and fundraising.
• Forging and managing partnerships with NGOs, publications and blogs, and fair trade companies.
• Growing and managing grassroots membership list of over 45,000 and coordinating email calendar.
• Managing and improving website, social networking presences, strategies, and online marketing tools.
• Writing, producing, and promoting petitions to Congress, newsletters, and other email blasts.
• Conducting and producing written and audio-visual interviews with women from partner organizations in developing countries.
• Hiring and managing 1-3 interns and consultants.
• Assisting VP of Communications and Outreach as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of online communications, organizing or marketing experience. - Experience managing partnerships or communications campaigns. - Ability to juggle multiple tasks. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Ability to self-direct as well as work in teams. - Sound knowledge of communications strategies and best practices. - Sound knowledge of social media and networking (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.). - Knowledge of HTML and website development - At least two years experience with content management (CMS) and constituent relationship management (CRM) systems. - College degree required, preferably in Journalism, Communications or Marketing. - Flexibility and a sense of humor.
